A Coastal and Classic Samoset Resort Wedding

Hannah and Andrew’s Samoset Resort wedding was the perfect mix of elevated coastal elegance and high-energy celebration. With a love for both the ocean and golf, they knew they wanted a venue that brought those two worlds together. From a champagne welcome at the ceremony to golf chipping activities at cocktail hour, their wedding was filled with thoughtful, unique touches that truly reflected who they are as a couple.

A Love Story Over a Decade in the Making

Hannah and Andrew’s love story started during their senior year of high school. Introduced by their best man, they first bonded at a friend’s birthday party, dancing to Gangnam Style—completely unaware that this moment would lead to a lifelong love story.

Through college and beyond, they grew up together, sharing countless memories along the way.

Fast forward to July 14, 2021, when Andrew pulled off an elaborate surprise proposal on Nantucket.

“My favorite number is 14, and his is 7—so he proposed on 7/14/21 at Sankaty Lighthouse,” Hannah shares. “He managed to get not only all our friends but also our family to the island without me having any clue!”

That perfect weekend inspired the feeling they wanted for their wedding—a celebration filled with love, family, and unforgettable memories.

Finding the Perfect Venue for Their Samoset Resort Wedding

Choosing a wedding venue was no easy task, but Hannah and Andrew knew they wanted a location that either held special memories or would allow them to create new ones.

“We love the ocean and golf, so we were searching for a place that blended the two,” Hannah says.

When they visited Samoset Resort, they knew it was the one.

  • Stunning coastal views set the perfect backdrop.
  • The golf course made it feel like a dream destination for them as a couple.
  • It was the first venue that truly felt like ‘them.’

“We had the most perfect weekend there,” Hannah says. “It’s now a place where we’ve created new memories that we’ll cherish forever.”

Emotional and Unforgettable Moments

Andrew’s Favorite Memory: The First Look

“It was the moment everything felt real. Seeing Hannah for the first time that day, knowing I was about to marry the love of my life, was overwhelming in the best way. I cried the whole time.”

Hannah’s Favorite Memory: Sunset Photos

“After the ceremony, cocktail hour, and first dance, we finally had a moment alone during sunset photos. Standing together, looking out over the water and the golf course as the full moon rose—we just felt so lucky. It was the first moment where we could step back, take it all in, and be proud of everything coming together.”

A Coastal and Classic Samoset Resort Wedding Aesthetic

For their Samoset Resort wedding, Hannah and Andrew wanted their design to feel seamless with the surrounding landscape.

  • Greens, blues, and grays with natural wood accents complemented the coastal setting.
  • They focused on elevated yet organic décor, keeping everything timeless and sophisticated.
  • They prioritized fun over formality, ensuring their guests had an amazing time.

“We wanted it to feel like a party,” Hannah says. “From the champagne welcome at the ceremony to glow sticks, sunglasses, and a cigar bar at the reception—our goal was for people to bring the energy!”

Wedding Planning Advice for Couples

After three years of planning, Hannah has some wisdom for couples going through the process:

  1. Don’t overthink it. “You want it to be perfect, but your guests won’t notice every detail the way you do.”
  2. Prioritize what really matters. “Decide what’s a must-have and what’s just a nice-to-have.”
  3. Make sure it feels like you. “At the end of the day, the best weddings reflect the couple’s personalities.”

After 11 years together and three years engaged, their Samoset Resort wedding felt like the perfect way to start their next chapter.

“We were surrounded by everyone we love, finally getting married after all this time,” Hannah shares. “We felt so confident and happy—like this was finally happening.”
