Kaylynn and Sarah’s Granite Ridge Estate wedding was the kind of celebration that reminds you just how sweet it is to be surrounded by love, laughter, and views that make you stop in your tracks. Set atop a mountaintop in Norway, Maine, their November 2024 wedding was filled with warmth, sincerity, and the kind of connection you only get from two people who know exactly who they are—individually and together.
A Love Story Rooted in Laughter (and a Dirt Pile)
These two first met in November 2021 at a brewery on the North Shore, and let’s just say the first date was a long one. Seven hours, to be exact. From beer and pizza to shared playlists and nonstop laughter, it was clear something special was brewing.
Just weeks later, Sarah introduced Kaylynn to her future townhouse—currently just a dirt pile in Amesbury—which quickly became a regular stop on their date nights. Over time, that pile of dirt turned into a home, and their adventures grew to include Queeraoke, snowboarding, nature walks, and the kind of everyday joy that makes life sweet.
In November 2023, Sarah proposed at their favorite apple orchard. Despite nearly missing the sunset (thanks to Kaylynn not knowing there was a timeline), everything went perfectly. Surrounded by friends and framed by golden light, she said yes beneath a tree they still point out on every visit.
Why They Chose a Granite Ridge Estate Wedding
As New England natives, it was important to Kaylynn and Sarah to find a setting that felt like home—somewhere that embraced fall foliage, crisp air, and mountain views. Granite Ridge Estate checked every box.
“The stunning barn, the panoramic views—it was exactly what we imagined when we pictured a classic New England fall wedding,” they shared. “We didn’t want things to feel too formal, but also not too casual. Granite Ridge offered that perfect balance.”
The secluded location added a sense of adventure and intimacy. “We loved that you had to go to get there. It made it feel special, like our own little mountaintop escape.”
Ceremony Giggles and Golden Moments
Kaylynn and Sarah skipped the first look and waited to see each other until the ceremony—and the moment did not disappoint. “The barn doors slid open and we just beamed,” they said. “There were giggles too, when Kaylynn’s veil caught on the wooden floor splinters, but it made everything feel real and perfect.”
For these two, the little imperfections added to the beauty of the day. “We realized that some of the magic is in the moments you don’t plan—the ones that unfold naturally and remind you why you’re there in the first place.”
A Cozy, Fall-Inspired Celebration
The design vision was rooted in simplicity and nature. “We pulled colors from the fall landscape—earthy tones, lots of greenery, and minimal embellishment. The view spoke for itself.”
Inside the barn, candlelight and a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe created the perfect backdrop for celebration. “We just wanted everyone to feel like they could relax, be present, and dance. Lots of dancing!”
Advice from the Couple
“Don’t get distracted by what you think a wedding should be. This day should reflect the two of you—your love, your priorities, your vibe.”
Kaylynn and Sarah recommend taking planning breaks and enjoying the process. “Some of our favorite memories were Saturday mornings at the coffee shop, crossing things off the list. Find joy in the process—it goes fast.”
A Day Overflowing with Love
From the quiet pre-ceremony moments to the final song on the dance floor, the day was full of love in every direction. “We were giddy. Not nervous—just so excited that the day had finally come.”
With help from friends, family, and a supportive vendor team, the couple pulled off a wedding that was deeply personal and joyfully authentic. “It felt like a celebration of everything we’d been through and everything we’re building together.”
