This relaxed barn wedding at Whitney Farm Estate was a weekend-long celebration filled with love, earthy tones, and unforgettable moments. Meghan and Chris envisioned a laid-back, party-like atmosphere where family and friends could come together not just for a day, but for an entire weekend. Their dream wedding came to life with sage and champagne hues, plenty of laughter, and heartfelt memories.
A Venue Perfect for a Relaxed Barn Wedding
When choosing a venue, Meghan and Chris knew exactly what they wanted: a barn close to home with enough space to host their wedding party for the entire weekend. Whitney Farm Estate checked every box. Its rustic charm and ample accommodations allowed them to extend the celebration beyond just one night, creating a truly memorable experience.
“We loved having everyone together all weekend,” Meghan shares. “It’s rare to have all your loved ones in one place, so spending that time with family and friends was incredible.”
Earthy Colors and a Laid-Back Vibe
Keeping with their desire for a relaxed barn wedding, Meghan and Chris chose earthy tones of sage and champagne for their color palette. These natural hues complemented the rustic elegance of Whitney Farm Estate and added to the laid-back atmosphere they envisioned.
“We’re not formal people, so the more laid-back, the better,” Meghan says. “We wanted the day to feel more like a party than a traditional wedding.”
A Love Story Years in the Making
Meghan and Chris’s journey began in high school, where they dated briefly before going their separate ways. Years later, fate brought them back together in 2019 when they reconnected over several weekends in Old Port.
Their second chapter quickly blossomed. By 2020, they had moved in together and adopted a dog. In 2022, Chris proposed during a magical evening on the beach in Cancun. “It was perfect,” Meghan recalls.
A Dream Come True
When the big day finally arrived, Meghan and Chris were overwhelmed with joy. “It was a dream for both of us,” Meghan says. “We’ve both said it was the best day of our lives. There’s really no other way to put it.”
The couple’s advice for future brides and grooms? “Do what makes you happy. I’m a people pleaser, but I had to remind myself that this was our day, and it needed to reflect us.”
