Romantic Engagement Session in York, Maine

Andrew and Sarah’s York, Maine engagement session was a beautiful reflection of their journey—one filled with intention, resilience, and excitement for the future. Against the scenic coastal backdrop, their session perfectly captured their love for adventure, family, and new beginnings.

A Thoughtful Proposal with Family at the Heart

Andrew, a pilot in the Air Force from Tennessee, and Sarah, a graduate student in Speech Language Pathology from South Carolina, knew they wanted their families to witness the proposal. After months of long-distance dating and careful planning, Andrew proposed on December 23, 2022, at the Clemson Botanical Gardens in South Carolina.

“I wanted a location that was private but still allowed our families to see the moment,” Andrew shared. “Sarah’s sister was a huge help—she found a pavilion over a pond and even FaceTimed me to show me around.”

The Perfect Surprise

On the big day, their families worked together to get Sarah to the pavilion without arousing suspicion.

“Her sister called, asking for our help setting up for an event since her brother-in-law works in events. Sarah didn’t think twice about it,” Andrew recalls.

As they arrived, Andrew suggested they take a photo. As Sarah turned to look, he dropped to one knee—completely surprising her.

“Our families got to witness everything from afar. It was such a special day!”

A Love That Defied Distance

Andrew and Sarah’s relationship began in 2021 on Hinge, with both of them setting their locations to New England for work and school. They quickly bonded over their shared values and life goals.

But just a few months into dating, Sarah was accepted into a graduate program in Georgia.

“We had an honest conversation about whether this was something we both wanted,” Sarah shares. “We decided to take the leap and make it work. Distance has been hard, but it’s made our communication so much stronger and brought us even closer together.”

Now, after years of long-distance dating, they’re ready to finally start their future together in New Hampshire.

A June Wedding at The Bleckley Inn

Andrew and Sarah will tie the knot on June 8, 2024, at The Bleckley Inn in Anderson, SC.

  • Their ceremony will take place in the courtyard, followed by an outdoor cocktail hour and an indoor reception in the inn’s charming, rustic spaces.
  • They chose June for a short engagement, perfectly timed with Sarah finishing school in May.
  • Their celebration will be small and intimate, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

“We’re so excited for the whole day—from the ceremony to celebrating with everyone we love,” Sarah says.

A Honeymoon Adventure in Montana

After their wedding, Andrew and Sarah will honeymoon in Montana, exploring Glacier National Park and the breathtaking mountain landscapes.

“We both love the outdoors and can’t wait to spend a week hiking and taking in the scenery,” Andrew shares.

Their honeymoon will be the perfect way to start their new chapter together—one filled with adventure, love, and a shared appreciation for nature.

Why They Chose a York, Maine Engagement Session

For their engagement session in York, Maine, Andrew and Sarah wanted a location that felt like a nod to their future together in New England.

“We’re looking forward to finally closing the distance and starting our forever together in New Hampshire,” Sarah shares.

York’s rugged coastline, charming New England feel, and stunning ocean views made it the perfect place to capture this special season of their lives.

“Sharing this time with our families and friends has been so special,” Sarah says. “We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day surrounded by so much love and support.”
